The SCPA Chorale and Meridian 8 choirs are competing in the 7th World Choir Games in Cincinnati. Both groups participated in the World Choir Games Opening Ceremonies on July 4th with hundreds of choirs from 63 countries around the world. We express our sincere gratitude to the Organizations and Individuals who sponsored our participation in the World Choir Games: The Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation, The Otto M. SCPA Meridian 8 competes in Category 16 - Jazz Choir Open Competition on Friday July 6th at 2:00 pm in the Mayerson Theater at SCPA. Meridian 8 will be performing Come Fly With Me by Jimmy Van Heusen arr. Mac Huff, Skylark by Hoagy Carmichael arr. Phil Mattson, One Note Samba by Antonio Carlos Jobim arr. Larry Lapin and Five Minus One by Randy Crenshaw. Meridian 8 is directed by Mr. Rick Hand. The SCPA Chorale competes in Category 6 – Mixed Youth Choirs Open Competition on Saturday July 7th at 1:15pm in Ballroom B at the Duke Energy Center. Chorale will be performing O Danny Boy (Traditional, Ireland) arr. Fred Prentice, Hold On! (Traditional Spiritual) arr. Moses Hogan, Hebrew Psalm 23 by Ross C. Bernhardt and Chile Con Carne by Anders Edenroth. The SCPA Chorale is directed by Ms. Laurie Wyant-Zenni.
