About the SCPA

Betsy Singh, Special Services

This is my twentieth year working in the Cincinnati Public Schools. For the first eleven years, I taught 4th grade to 6th grade at Hoffman Elementary School and Pleasant Ridge Elementary School. For the last eight years I have been the CPS Coordinator of Gifted Programming (with a year of sharing time with a 9th/10th grade teacher at Clark Montessori). But, my favorite job of all has been the last three years...my half-time job here at SCPA working with gifted students!

I love being at SCPA because I love continuing to learn and I love the arts. During different times in my life I have been in musicals, danced ballroom, sang in different venues - so I love getting to watch all of the students combine arts and education here at SCPA. In addition to the arts, I am a huge dog lover! I have two rescued wheaten terriers. Stop by and see a picture of them and bring me a picture of your pet!

Before I became a teacher, I grew up with my mom, dad and two older brothers in Louisville, Kentucky. Then I went to Miami University to get a degree in Elementary Education. I received my Masters in Special Education with a Gifted Licensure from Xavier University. As you can see, I have a lot of teams to root for...but mostly go Cards!
