Jane E. Simon has had a distinguished career as an educator for more than 25 years for the Cincinnati Public Schools. Currently, as a Dance Specialist at the School of the Creative and Performing Arts, she is responsible for instruction in dance/movement for the Kindergarten through Third grade. Previous to this she taught a Schiel Primary School for Arts Enrichment, Merry Middle School, North Avondale School and SCPA. In addition, Ms. Simon choreographs and directs children's dance performances. Her past experiences include dancing and choreographing for "The Celebration Dancers," Cincinnati Young Peoples Theater, Kincaid Regional Theater, and other various companies. She is active in the local Cincinnati Arts community, and serves on the boards of Exhale Dance and Bi-O-Koto Dance. She has been lucky enough to have studied dance with many incredible dancers, including James Truitte, Martha Graham and her school staff, JoJo Smith, Danny Burcheski, Merce Cunningham, and many others. Ms. Simon holds a Master of Arts in Arts Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. One of her greatest accomplishments is her son Max, who is a proud graduate of SCPA in 2006, and Ohio Wesleyan University in 2010.
